An inventory of his estate was taken 24 May 1746 and may be found in probate records at the Connecticut State Library. Samuel married first 4 April 1690 MARY PALMER, the daughter of Timothry and Hannah (Buel) Palmer. She was the sister of Hannah Palmer who married Samuel's older brother Timothy. Mary was born at Windsor 14 May 1669 and died there 9 May 1715. Samuel married second 17 April 1717 ELIZABETH BROWN of Colchester, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Polley) Brown. John Brown and Elizabeth Polley were married at Woburn, MA 22 April 1682. Elizabeth was administrator of her husband's estate. The bond and inventory are dated 18 February 1707/08 and give the ages of their children as follows: John, 24; Elizabeth, 21; Hannah, 19; Joseph, 15; Samuel, 13, and George, 11. A deed dated 3 january 1725/26 "from Samuel Horsford and Elizabeth, his wife, to our brother Samuel Brown of Colchester" notes that "Elizabeth above said was daughter to John Brown late of Colchester, dec." Children of Samuel and Mary (Palmer): i. Mary, born 15 February 1690/91 ii. William, born at Windsor 24 June 1692 and died 13 April 1715 iii. Benjamin, born 1 January 1700/01 iv. Martha, born at Windsor 6 December 1707 and died 6 September 1708 Children of Samuel and Elizabeth (Brown): v. SAMUEL, born 11 January 1717/18 vi. Jesse, born 24 May 1719 vii. Elizabeth, born 8 Feburary 1721/22. She married first 15 October 1742 Richard Burnham of Hartford; she married second aftter 1747 JOHN RIPPIN also of Hartford
