George came west at the age of 23 with his parents, James William Brown and Martha J. [Carper] and 6 brothers and 6 sisters and settled Leland area in the year 1880. In 1889 in Southwick he was married to Cora D. Jones. Resided in the Southwick / Cavendish area until their passing away. Cora died sept. 10 1923 and George died dec. 3, 1828. Both are burried in the Southwick cemetery. George and Cora lived on the Andy Baker place located northeast of the Baker saw mill and which is now owned by Lettenmaiers. They later moved north of the town, into the draw before Nick Armitage's. George and Martha were members of the Unite d Brethren Church, and he often served as their pastor at Southwick. They resided at Southwick until their passing . . .
George Miller Brown, born August 19, 1857 at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa came west at the age of 23 with his parents James William Brown and Martha J. Carper Brown and six brothers and six sisters, settling in the Leland area in the year 1880. In 1889 at Southwick, Idaho he was united in marriage to Cora D. Jones. They resided in the Southwick/Cavendish area until their passing away, Cora September 10, 1923 and George December 3, 1928. Both are buried in the Southwick cemetery. To this union were born ten children; Maggie Brown Aikin, Sadie Brown Dygert, Ethel Brown Hepler, Bessie Brown, Ed Brown, Goldie Brown Temero, Martha Brown Sapp. Ed Brown, son of George and Cora Brown was born July 21, 1904 at Southwick, Idaho, and grew to manhood in the Southwick/Cavendish area. He was united in marriage to Lula Weber on November 27, 1925 at Asotin, Washington. They resided in Kendrick , Idaho until their passing away, Lula April 18, 1986 and Ed April 2, 1988. Both are buried in the Kendrick cemetery. To this union were born five children; Pearl Brown Jensen, Donald Brown, Kenneth Brown, Kathryn Brown Wohllaib, Violet Brown Osborn. Three of the five; Donald, Kenneth and Violet still reside in Kendrick (year?? 1995??).
