    In the early 1890s he worked for Dun and Bradstreet, the credit concern, which required a fair amount of travel. After he married, he quit and worked as a plumber in Braddock. Around 1905 the family moved to West Virginia, where he was initially a bookkeeper for his father-in-law's liquor businesses in Benwood, WV and Bellaire, OH. In the early 1930s he was an agent for Equitable Life Insurance and United Mutual Life. During the last 20 years of his life, he and Anna lived at 2416 Hazlett Avenue in Warwood, WV where they were members of the Corpus Christi church.
