Nancy Williams Thompson (1839-1925)

Nannie received a pension for the service of her husband in the Civil War. After he died she removed to North Carolina and was denied a pension from there due to the service was in Virginia. The family moved back to Virginia and she applied after living there 2 and one half years in 1914, but was denied. The residence requirement was 5 years and in 1916 she was awarded the pension amount of $33.00 monthly. [Photocopies of her entire VA pension application in my possession]

Dates from the Thompson Family Bibly belonging to Kate Dodd and a photocopy in my possession. Also date confirmed on death certificate in my possession.
