    Frederick Malloy Chandler (1927-2003)

    Dr. Frederick Malloy Chandler, 76, of Roxboro, NC, died September 4, 2003, at Duke University Medical Center. Born in Caswell Co., he was the son of the late Claude Gunn and Freda Painter Chandler. Dr. Chandler served in the US Navy. Dr. Chandler received his Bachelor's Degree from Elon College in 1949, his Master's Degree from East Carolina in 1952, and his Doctorate of Dental Science from UNC Chapel Hill in 1958. He was a member of Delta Sigma Delta Fraternity, president of the UNC Dental Class of 1958, and sang in the Dental Choir. Dr. Chandler practiced dentistry 40 years.

    Dr. Chandler is survived by his wife, Jean Ray Chandler; two daughters, Freda Anne Chandler, of Sarasota, Fla. and Susan Ray Chandler, of Melbourne, Fla.; two sisters, Frances C. Tripp, of Roxboro, and Jean C. Styron, of Raleigh.
