  • Note: THE PARIS NEWS, 28 Nov 1962: 'Mrs. R. L. Lattimore, the former Miss Jessie Caviness of Paris, died of illness, Sunday at 7 a.m. at home in Dallas, 5843 Preston Haven. She had lived in Dallas the past 18 years. After service there Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Sparkman's Ross Avenue chapel, graveside rites in Paris will be held at 2 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery. Fry and Gibbs here has charge of burial arrangements, the Rev. John Shuler of First Methodist Church to officiate. Daughter of the late Cornelius G. and Elizabeth Caviness, Mrs. Lattimore was born in Paris, her father being a building contractor. She was the widow of a former district and county attorney here, who died 22 Oct 1944. Surviving are these children:....; a brother and three sisters; Roy Caviness, Mrs. Mary Faye Middleton and Mrs. Louise McCleary, all of Pharr (MY NOTE: This is incorrect and should be Paris.) and Mrs. Merle Palmore, Ravenna.' *Buried next to R. L. Lattimore. Tombstone is inscribed, 'Jessie C. Lattimore.'
