  • Note:
    Five feet, six inches tall, with hazel eyes, brown hair and a fair complexion, he enlisted Sept. 30, 1834, as a private in the US Army at Albany, NY. He deserted from Aug. 28, 1835, to Nov. 26, 1836, and again April 15, 1838. He was apprehended at Ross Landing, TN, and was discharged by court martial, July 15, 1838. He appears in the 1840 census of Lauderdale County, AL, and was later a farmer at Thompson, Pike County, AR.

    During the Civil War he enlisted in Company G (made up of 88 men from Pike County), 4th Arkansas Infantry, Confederate Army. He died January 9, 1862, at Fayetteville, AR, while in the service of the Confederate Army. His widow applied for a pension for his Civil War service, July 2, 1894, at Murfreesboro, Pike County, AR.
