Jackie (Ashley) Pace -- Chastain Shores EUBANK (5 Mar1822) took on the business of stock trader and traveled the county over, making horse deals. On a trip to Mississippi he apparently stopped for a spell with his cousin, John Eubank HARLAN (1802), his Aunt Sally's son. Then 26 and still single, he fell in love with John's 16 year old daughter, Nancy Elizabeth (17 Sep 1829). Not only was Nancy his 1st cousin once removed, she was also his 3rd cousin, plus his 3rd cousin once removed - so they were truly ?kissing cousins.? They married in 1848 and he took her home to Mudlick, Monroe Co, KY. There he built her a beautiful home where they raised 9 children. According to her granddaughter, Mattie GARRETT GOLD, who visited the home in 1947: "it was lovely & had four wood burning fire places. It was built on a little hill all terraced & beautiful lawn about 50 yards to a beautiful clear creek. It was quite a large plantation they called farms then." Nancy never returned home to MS again, not even for a visit.
