Note: Obituary -- Funeral rites for Mrs. Thomas Evans, 80, were conducted Tuesday afternoon in the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Evans died shortly before noon Sunday. Mrs. Evans moved to Floydada from Memphis, Texas in 1965. Her husband died March 11, 1967. The deceased was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. M. H. Tobian of Ft. Worth; two sons, Raymond of Floydada and Robert L. of Kerrville; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Prater of Marlow, Oklahoma and Mrs. Emma Williams of Sausalito, California; two brothers, Gillie Stotts and Henry Stotts both of Marlow; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Rev. C.B. Melton officiatged the rites assisted by Dr. Floyd C. Bradley pastor of First Baptist Church. Internment was in Floyd County Memorial Park under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home.
