Pg 176 #30 BORDLEY, James NICHOLSON, Henrietta G. 30 March 1835 Rev Greenbank

    2. From "Colonial Familes and Their Descendants" by Mary Edwardine Bourke Emory. The author was born about 1831 and personally knew these people.

Dr. James Bordley, "Little Doctor," who lived at "Bordlington," married Miss Henrietta Nicholson, sister of Hopper Nicholson, and left issue as follows: Maria, James, Sarah (deceased), Mary, who married Dr. Willis and resides in Chestertown, and a son, Robert Goldsborough, now living in Baltimore. Mr. William Clayton Bordley's first wife was from England. They had five intelligent children. First, Mary Elizabeth (Pinkie), whose beautiful character made an indellible improssion on all who knew her; second, Jamie, an intelligent youth, whose purity of character was proverbial among his associates. This young man died in Yazoo

    3. Joseph Hopper Nicholson (1777-1819) had a sister named Henrietta who married Dr. Robert Goldsborough. The middle initial "G" in the name "Henrietta G. Nicholson" probably stands for "Goldsborough". From census records of 1810 and 1820, we can infer that Joseph Hopper Nicholson and his wife, Charlotte Gibson, had two sons and two daughters since two male and two female children were living in the household. From the first name "Henrietta" and the middle initial "G", and the time frame (marriage one year before marriage of JH Nicholson's son JH Nicholson), and the statement in the above record that she was the sister of "Hopper Nicholson" (presumably Joseph "Hopper" Nicholson), it is logical to assume that this "Henrietta G. Nicholson" was one of the daughters of Joseph Hopper Nicholson (1777-1819).
