    "Know all men by these presents that we William Dimond, Philemon Green and John H[?] Downes of Queen Anne's County are held and firmly bound unto Charlotte Gibson, Orphan Daughter of Jacob Gibson...".".

    William Chambers named as new guardian to Charlotte GIbson.

    $6,000 bond..

    4. Inherited following properties from her uncle, Edward Rogers: "Lambertgh", "Arcadia Brittania" and "Normington", part in Queen Anne's County and part in Talbot County. Appraised by John Danes, 1797. "...the property of Charlotte Gibson, a minor, now under the care of wm Diamond guardian, 260-270 acres of which 180 acres cleared and enclosed by a bad(?) fence and divided by cross fences in total(?) rabble repair and on which is one old frame dwelling house about 30 feet long and 18 feet wide and good for but little attached to which is a small frame house anout 20 long and 16 feet wide in bad repair adjoinging and attached to which is a two story new frame house covered and weather boarded 20 feet square the greater part of the cellar walls made ? unfinished in other respects. One old barn 24 feet long by 16 feet wide in very bad repair, one old hen house, abt 100 apple trees situated in three different places, about 30 more old cherry trees, some old peach trees, a nursery of apple trees containing about 200...the guardian is not permited to clear any land nor to cut down orothrwise destroy any timber or timber trees other than for repair of houses or fences...value at 70 pounds in current money per annum..."

    a. Will of Edward Rogers, Queen Anne's County, 21 Aug 1791 Maryland state Archives

    "...I give to my Daughter Rachel Gibson during her Life the following negroes...after the death of my said Daughter Rachel I give the said negroe slaves and their future increase to my granddaughter Charlotte Gibson"

    Also mentions son Edward Rogers, grandson Edward Kent, granddaughter Frances Kent, daughter Ann Trent, daughter Sarah Kent, granddaughter Maria Kent, daughter Hannah Rogers.

    "...I give and bequeath to Sharlot Gibson my niece all the Dwelling plantation I last purchases of Mr. Nehimiah Noble to her and her heirs forever...the said negro Charles to Charlotte Gibson my niece toher now..."

    Also mentions: wife Sarah Rogers, niece Mariah Kent, Rebecca Wooders, Edward Wooders

    These two wills establish that Charlotte Gibson was the daughter of Rachel (Rogers) Gibson.

    William Dimond, Guardian Bond to Charlotte Gibson

    "Know all men by these presents that we William Dimond, Philemon Green and John H[?] Downes of Queen Anne's County are held and firmly bound unto Charlotte Gibson, Orphan Daughter of Jacob Gibson..."

    This establishes that Charlotte Gibson was the daughter of Jacob Gibson. The Orphan's Court records establish that both Jacob Gibson and his wife Rachel Rogers were dead by 1787. Edward Papenfuse (Edward C. Papenfuse, Alan F. Day, David W. Jordan, and Gregory A. Stiverson, A Biographical Dictionary of the Maryland Legislature, 1635-1789, The Johns Hopkins University Press, Baltimore and London, 1985) lists the wife of Jacob Gibson as "Rachel" in his genealogy of the Gibson family.
