    --1683/1684 Stafford Co VA; Recd of JOHN BREWTON two thousand & forty pounds of tobo & Caske beinge part of a Bill of two thousand five hundred pounds of tobo dated this 16th of January...I say received by me this Test. ADAM WOFFENDELL

    --1692 July 13th; Mr HEARSE: I am afraid SAMUEL LUCAS will neglect and not be present when my business is called; I would desire you if so to confess to JOHN WILLIAMS for 1300 pounds of Tobacco Judgemt. I havinge payd one hhds of the Bill and this shall be yor Warrant for so doeinge from yor friend to Command... I am almost Blinde for want off Rest, havinge not had any since Sunday night by reason of Payne. JOHN BREWTON

SAMUEL LUCAS attorney of the said JOHN BREWTON the deft appointed came into Court and confessed Judgment to the said John Pike Junr. and John Williams in their said Qualification for the sum th ree hundred and twenty four pounds of Tobacco .. Therefore tis ordered that JOHN BREWTON shall make present payment of the said sum .. with costs
    --1692 deed of JAMES HEARSE of Stafford Co VA: out of the natural love and affection I bear unto THOMAS BREWTON son of JOHN BREWTON of Stafford County... make over unto him one darke browne mare with a star in ye forehead and one white foot behinde, brand ed on ye near buttock with BJ (script, in actual deed) being now about six yeares old runninge near Coll Fithzhugh's plantation.
    --1703 JOHN BREWTON witnessed the Stafford Co VA land deed of JOSEPH KING (son of ROBERT KINGE mentioned above) along with his wife ELIZABETH BREWTON and daughter ANN LUCAS. JOSEPH KING appointed JOHN BREWTON his attorney in the matter, selling land to WILLIAM SOWELL. JOHN BREWTON's son THOMAS BREWTON signed the letter of attorney.

    -- I , JOHN BREWTON, of Stafford County in Virginia, being sick of body give to my son WILLIAM BREWTON 50 acres of land lying in Westmoreland County part of 100 acres purchased by me of Mr ROBERT ALEXANDER lying on the east side of a pattent of 500 acres of land & for want of heirs to HELENA BREWTON...and for want of heirs to JOHN CACHER, son of ROBERT & ELIZABETH CACHER...for want of heirs to ANN LAKAS (LUCAS) during her natural life and after her decease to JOHN BREWTON son of THOMAS BREWTON of Gloucest er in the Kingdom of England... to my daughter HELENA BREWTON the remaining 50 acres of land now tenanted to RICHARD CARVER for want of heirs to my son WILLIAM BRUTON. To SARAH daughter of THOMAS & SARAH BREWTON...to JOHN CACHER son of ROBERT CACHER & EL IZABETH.. to ANN LAKAS (LUCAS) during her natural life and after her decease to JOHN BREWTON son of THOMAS BREWTON.. unto my loving wife ELIZABETH BREWTON all the remaining part of my estate, and I appoint her the said ELIZABETH my sole Excecutrix. the 29 th day of May 1706.     Recorded Feb 11, 1707, the Executrix being dead, ROBERT CATCHER assumed in court to be security.
