    NOT: In the year 1668, the name Clement Allred first appeared on the records of Northumberland
    County, VA' 7 Apr 1668 whereas it appeard to this County; Mr Rich. Haskins,Clement Allred
    stands indebeted to Rich, Haskins In ye sums of six hundred eighty one pounds of Tabacco and
    Cast
    it is ordered that ye ad Clement Allred forthwith pay ye same unto ye ad Mr Haskins
    (Northumberland County Order Book 3;35)
    Clement Allred and his wife Elizabeth became settlers in what was then known as Bowtracy and
    Fairfield parishes, embracing the section of Northumberland County North of the Great Wicocomico
    River (later shortened to Wicomico). In1698 these two parishes were untinted to form the parish of
    St Stephen's parish has been preserved and is now at the State Library at Richmond, VA.
    On april 1677, Clemt Allred witnessed a will. On 17 Apr 1679, Clement
    Allred was party to a suit for debt. He was a carpenter or joiner by trade and had an apprentice
    bound to him 21 Aug 1678. Clement Allred was a tithable of Bowtracy parish 7 Jun 1679. On 19
    Nov 1679, Clement Allred
    was aoid for mending Bowtray Church. He appears in various courty entries in 1684 and 1688.
    On 22 Jun 1693, 'William Beane was arrested at the suit of Clement
    Allred and Elizabeth his wife' The final entry regarding him is recorded thus: Aldridge's 'Upon the
    mocon of Elizabeth Aldridge execrx a Probate is granted Will proved by Her of the Last Will and
    Testement of Clement
    Aldridge, deced 19 Jan 1698-the said Will being proved by the oath of
    David Strsughan and Mary Tilles 1699.' Winesses to the said Will and same is admitted to Record.

    Courthouse a short time alter.
