  • Note:

    Variant Spelling of Name:

According to the death certificate of Jan Kalinowski that I got from the Civil Records Repository in Miedzna the name should be spelled: Marianna Szur. In the church record about the death of this individual herself the spelling is somewhat different: Maryanna Siur.
The record was hand-written in Russian (in Cyrillic alphabeth) and only partially in Polish. The difficulty in reading the handwritting may have led to a misinterpretation in later documents. However, I verified that in all other documents the name is always spelled Siur, so this is the spelling I decided to use in this file.

      Note:

The age of Feliks Oltusek, witnessing the death, is most probably miswritten in this document. According to the death certificate of this individual as well as his brothers' death certificate (both present in this file), where he also appears as a witness, he was born around 1830, so he must have been fifty and not fourty-five at the time of Marianna Siur's death.
