    Variant Spelling of Name:

According to the Death Certificate of Mikolaj Oltusek that I got from the Civil Records Repository in Miedzna, this name is spelled Borysiewicz. However what I got from there is only a document made on the basis of the original text. Though, I am in possession of the photocopy of the original church record about the death of Maciej Oltusek. According to that document, Maciej Oltusek died as widower and his wife's name had been Katarzyna Boryszewska.
In the 19th century, the church records were hand-written in Russian (in Cyrillic alphabeth, while Polish uses Latin letters). Therefore my best guess is that the variant spelling Borysiewicz was caused by a clergyman's misinterpretation of Russian letters in later documents.
I have also found the church record about the death of Katarzyna Boryszewska herself so I could determine beyond any doubt the right spelling as it was.
