    Obituary of Ella (Quimby) Wright from the Martin Scrapbook:

    Died of typhoid pneumonia, at the residence of P.G. Wright, Esq., in Martinsburg, Dixon, Co., Neb., Jan. 5, 1880, Mrs. Ella Wright, wife of L.G. Wright, aged 28 yrs. The funeral was held at the Martinsburg school house, Jan. 8th. The funeral sermon was preached by Mr. Smith, the Methodist minister of this circuit.


    Mrs. Wright was born at Aetna (sic), Wisconsin, and when but 3 weeks old her mother died, and she was adopted by her Uncle Hosea Low, of Waukon, Allamakee Co., Iowa, where she was married Nov. 30, 1874, the ceremony being performed by Rev. B.C. Hammond, pastor of the M.E. Church of which she was a member.


    Mrs. Wright moved with her husband to Martinsburg about 4 yrs. ago, and resided there until her death. She left one daughter 4 years old and one babe, 6 weeks old.


    Mrs. Wright was an amiable and excellent woman, a sincere Christian, and a devoted wife and mother. Greatly beloved by all who knew her, she was followed to the grave by a large concourse of sorrowing friends.

    Ella's Mother died three weeks after her birth. She was adopted by her uncle, Hosea Low and went to live with him in Waukon, Allamakee Co., Iowa.
