    Subject: Young Line
. . .I have found a couple of researchers on the web that descend from Horace Green Young and his second wife, Eliza; and they are posting Horace's death as 1905 in OK, and Eliza's death as 1915 in OK. I sent emails to them tonight and hopefully they will reply. I have run up against a wall in Union Co., South Carolina, in trying to identify Wesley Young's parents. Two gentlemen who also descend from the Youngs of Union Co., SC, have been in contact with me. One is Virg Young from Oregon, and he has convinced me of the need to participate in the Young DNA testing. My wife's brother has agreed to provide the DNA. Virg believes that my wife's 4th great grandfather, Wesley Young, of Union Co., SC, was the grandson of one of four Young brothers that arrived in South Carolina in the 1750s. Hopefully, the DNA test will help sort this out. The second gentleman contacted me today. He is Dr. Mel Meek of Lawton, OK, and he has written four volumes on the Young line; containing over 2400 pages. The LDS has micro-filmed all of the info for their library, and the info is also in the Library of Congress, the DAR Library, and the Public Library in Union Co., SC. I'm eager to see this info. Dr. Meek asked me to send him my wife's Young line; which I did tonite. I hope he can provide some new info...will be surprised if he cannot.

Also, not long ago, while doing some research for someone else I came across someone on the internet (whom I have never had contact with) showing our Bryant Tomlinson of NC and GA, as being Aaron Bryant Tomlinson m. to Sarah "Sallie" Kendrick. I made a quick notation somewhere and have now misplaced it within the stack of notes I have on the other person's line. If you have any new info on the common lines we are researching, please let me know.

    Thanks,

. . .Last summer I actually located and communicated with a direct descendant of Juanita "Neta" Young Bankston. . . Juanita was b. 26 Aug 1880 at Marlin, Falls Co., Texas; d. 28 Sept 1957 at Dawson, Navarro Co., Texas; m. 1st Henry Harrison Bankston; 2nd J.W. Hardy. Her parents were Horace Green Young & Amanda Tomlinson. They had 3 other children: Sarah E. Young, b. 27 June 1871; d. 29 Feb 1894; m. Henry Harrison Bankston; John C. Breckinridge Young, b. 5 July 1875; d. 3 Feb 1913; m. Mary Phranadia Harris; Horace L. Young, b. Nov 1879; d. after 1957 (he was present at Neta's funeral). Horace Green Young married a 2nd time to Mrs. Eliza S. Elmore (a widow), and they had 4 children (I have the details on them if you are interested). If you have any additional info on this, please advise. Thanks, EW

One correction. You have Amanda Tomlinson married to Horace I. Young. Actually he was Horace Green Young; son of Samuel Christopher Young & Euletheria Charlotte Green. Horace was named after his mother's uncle, Dr. Horace Green of New York City, the famous 19th century throat doctor who introduced new methods of treating throat cancer. Also, I have found that Amanda Tomlinson's initials were N.E.A. Tomlinson. Do you know what the N. and E. stood for?

    Subject: Horace Green Young

I saw your posting on the internet. Horace Green Young is my wife's great, great grandfather. I have considerable information on this family if you are interested. Horace's second wife was the widow, Eliza C. Elmore. We are in possession of the original marriage certificates for both of Horace's marriages in Falls County, Texas. I lost track of Horace after he left Falls County. Family tradition states that he died in or near Warren, Oklahoma, circa 1910. Can you verify this? How far back can you take the Young line? I have it in South Carolina in the late 1700s. Hope to exchange info. Thanks,
