    Herman Paul Dies at the Age of 71
    Herman Paul, 71, of Conemaugh Twp., Cambria County, died at 6:35 p.m. yesterday at Memorial Hospital where he was admitted as a medical patient on June 23. He had been seriously ill since the end of April. Mr. Paul resided on the farm which he had operated until about 14 years ago when he retired. Mr. Paul was born on Jan. 17, 1875, at Parkstown,a son of John and Mary (Parks) Paul. He was married twice. His first wife Mrs. Viola (Willett) Pau], died on Jan 21, 1915. His second wife Mrs. Sovilla (Eash) Schlee-Paul, survives, along with five children - Charles Paul, R.D.2; Mrs. Alverda Rummel, Tanneryville; Mrs. Beatrice Scott, 169 Horner St.; Mrs. Grace McEwan, Johnstown R.D. 2 and Mrs. Jennie Wilson, Baltimore, Md. A stepson, Oscar Schlee, resides in Moxham. Mr. Paul also leaves 14 grandchildren. He was a brother of Mrs. Bertha Sarlouis, Johnstown R.D. 2,and Mrs. Ed Weigand, Pickworth St. Dale, and a half brother of Elmer Park, Johnstown. The deceased was a member of the Mt. CarmeI E.U.B. Church. Friends will be received at the Henderson Funeral Home after 6 p.m. today. Brief services will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Sunday followed by additional services at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Carmel Church by Rev. Irwin D. SelI, pastor of the Johnstown Mennonite Mission., and the Rev. G. L. Pardoe, pastor of the Mt. Carmel Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Six grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
