Chesterfield Co. is near Bermuda Hundred where much earlier I found reference to the Littleberry family (in the early 1600's). It is also very near Shirly and Westover Plantations that the Wests once owned.

    ...In 1798 William and Littleberry West settled in St. Tammany, but they were driven away by Indians after a year. American State Papers, in Claims East of Pearl River, show Littleberry West the present settler in 1813. and William Langton as the original settler in 1805. Littleberry West married Eleanor Langton in St. Tammany Parish; Littleberry West and his wife, Eleanor Carter, are listed.
    ...In 1829, George Washington Jones places $1,000 with the court as security for the appearance of "Berry West, Littleberry West and Gade West" in court of Washington Parish. Littleberry and Gade pledged "a certain negro boy named Peter" to George W. Jones in the event they forfeited the bond.

    ...two of the Cryer brothers m. West girls, daughters of Littleberry West. They were William Sr.'s sons - Honor and Thomas. I didn't have a "Winney" as his child, only Mary & Elizabeth. The information I have is that Mary m. Francis Carrier, and Elizabeth m. William Brennan. Honor was b. in 1797. So it looks like an unknown child has been found (not as this date - Jim Allen). The West she married was probably a brother to Rhoda, Honor's wife, and Kesia, Thomas's wife.

    ...William West and his son Little Berry, arrived (White Colony on Bogue Chitto) and with permission, established a claim on the west side of the Bogue Chitto five miles below the "demarcation" or dividing line between the MS Terr. and LA. Robert Carter also came in the early months of 1799 and staked out a claim to a land tract on the west side of the Bogue Chitto not far from where the river flowed into the Pearl.
