Ellen Mary Dubruille, was a daughter of Charles DubrEuille and Elizabeth
Tierney of Ontario, Canada (where Ellen Mary was born).
Charles Dubreuille was a son of Hyacinthe Dubreuille and Margaret
Charlebois, both born in Quebec. Hyacinthe was born in 1801 and he was
still alive in the 1871 Ottawa Census (widower). Two of Charles'
siblings were Susan (bapt. 1837 in Richmond, Ontario) and Octavious
(bapt. 1839 in Richmond, Ontario).
Charles (born about 1833) married Elizabeth Tierney on February 15, 1854
at Notre Dame Church in Ottawa. Their first child, Margaret Ann, was
born December 14, 1854 in Nepean, Ontario. (Ottawa, Nepean and Richmond
are all right close together).
Elizabeth Tierney was born December 15, 1833 in Nepean and was the
first-born child of 11 children born to John Tierney(1803-1891) and Ann
Murray(1813-1899). Her grandparents (her father's parents) were Denis
Tierney(circa 1777 - 1856) and Margaret Eagan (who was born and died
before 1820 in Tipperary, Ireland). Denis Tierney remarried Judith
Quinn in Tipperary and emigrated with his new wife and children from his
first wife to Canada in the 1820's.
Charles and Elizabeth left the Ottawa area for Oregon about 1865 and, at
that time, their surname changed from Dubreuille to Dubruille.
John Tierney (Elizabeth's father) is my great-grandfather.
