This book was originally publishedin 1972 by very active members of the "Kelly Clan", that held reunions and published several compilations of family history. The 1970-72 Chairman was a fellow named Philip Sheridan King, III, who may have written the part about Mary Kelly, and is decribed as a great-grandson of Tolbert and Mary Kelly.
Tolbert and Mary were preparing to follow his brothers to Oregon when he died in Missouri. She made the trip with the children a couple years later when her eldest, Elias, was about 15 and Rebecca was 13. After some years Mary married Philip Mulkey in Lane County. They lived in several areas in western and southern, Oregon and northern California. Mary died 11 Jun 1875 and is burried in a small family cemetery near Pleasant Hill.
