    To all ye Now know you that I the Said Edward Diggs Esq. do give and grant unto Richard Foster two hundred Acres of land on the head of the Southard Creek in Severne In Mockjack Bay beginning at a marked tree and running to the marked trees of Coll: Ludlow ... The said land being and unto the Said Richard Foster by and for the transportation of four Persons into this Colony whose names are all in the records ... Provided ye this first of April 1655.

    Note: This land would have been located in Abingdon Parish in Colonial Gloucester Co. VA.


    Please Note: It is quite possible that the Fosters of Mathews Co. VA are descended from this individual. For this individual to own land he must have been at least 21 yrs. or older, so a safe guess placed his age at 25 yrs. --Becky Foster Barnhardt
