Obituary reads:-
The death occurred in the Gympie District Hospital on May 15 (1955) of Mr Ernest Bundarra Sutton, aged 74 years. His wife had predeceased him only 14 days before. Mr Sutton, who had been ill for a long time, had spent the last seven months in hospital.
Born at Bundarra Hospital, he came to Deepwater at the age of 14 and remained in the district for nearly 60 years. With his brother Harold, he had a bakery in North Tenterfield Street. Later he had some success as a jockey, following all-heights meetings throughout the district. For 21 years he was a horse trainer, and in this capacity he was best known.
A sister Bella (Mrs J Chandler) lives in Texas, and his brother, Harold lives in Tamworth. Brothers Charles, George and Edward, and sisters Florence, Emma, Mabel and Mary, predeceased him. Mesdames A Barnett, W Lockwoods and M Romer (Deepwater) and W Sullivan ( Stanthorpe) are daughters, and Arthur (Kilkivan) is a son. The funeral took place in the Church of England Cemetery in Kilkivan on Tuesday.
