Note: Could Joel be the son of Jacob and his first wife Beersheba? Joel Kelly may NOT be a son of this Jacob, but I'm placing him here for the time being, because he obviously is closely related, and I want to track him. In the 1830 census, he was living two households from Jacob in Dooly Co., GA. Joel was in the 1840 Dooly Co. census, again near Jacob. He showed these children: 2 males 5-10 1 male 10-15, 1 male 15-20, 2 males 20-30, 1 male 40-50, 1 female 10-15, 1 female 20-30. This female wasn't shown on the earlier census, so she my not have been a daughter. 1 female 40-50 In the 1850 Dale Co., AL census, Joel is 50. Joel Kelly of Wilkinson (as was Jacob and Thornton) drew land in the 1821 Land Lottery of GA. It was in Houston Co., Kettles Dist., Lot 73, Sect. 4. Thornton Fowler moved there about that time. In the 1860 census, he was living in a neighboring section of Dale Co., AL to Jacob in Coffee Co. He showed these odd age groupings: John 41, Stephen 28, Margarett 28, George 11, Eliza 1, Elizabeth 21, John . Living in Coffee Co., AL, Joel and Elizabeth sold to Sam Brunson in 1876 and to Mr. Milligan in 1879. Coffee Co., Deed Bk. Q, pp 54-55, p. 326.
