His first job was with junkman Weiser. He worked for Wheeling Steel for more than 40 years, in his later years as a barge scheduler. In the early years at Wheeling Steel, Art also worked in a shoe store. He enjoyed spending time at the Knights of Columbus hall. He did not drive.
The family lived at the old Sherry residence at 3082 Belmont Street up to about 1937. They had moved to 4175 Franklin Street by the time of James Leo's death in October 1938.
