The Wigmores of Shobdon were a junior branch of the family long seated at Lucton, and derived from Rowland Wigmore, younger son of William Wigmore of Lucton, by a dau. of Hopton. He seems to have established himself at Shobdon at the beginning of the 16th century. William Wigmore was his son. Thomas was his grandson. His son Warncombe Wigmore married Ann, d of Sir David Williams.?
