Note: 1 2 3 Of Shobdon. --- The Wigmores of Shobdon were a junior branch of the family long seated at Lucton, and derived from Rowland Wigmore, younger son of William Wigmore of Lucton, by a dau. of Hopton. He seems to have established himself at Shobdon at the beginning of the 16th century. William Wigmore was his son. Thomas was his grandson. His son Warncombe Wigmore married Ann, d of Sir David Williams.? --- This ancient family took it's name from the town of Wigmore, and the family feat was at Lucton. Their Pedigree fays, Richard de Wigmore married the daughter of Sir Jafper Croft foon after the conqueft, whofe Defcendants having married into the families of Pedwardin, Lumley, Aylesford, Delamere, Lingain, Throckmorton, Cornwall, Whitney and other worthy families, Robert Wigmore in the year 1670, was the 22nd defcent. I can find no references to marriages of Wigmores with any of the families mentioned above. --- His eldest son was Thomas Wigmore of Shobdon who married Mary, dau of Ellis Evans alias Bithill of Northop.Page: p 251
