    Son of Pepin III "The Short" of the Franks, King of Franks and his queen Bertrada II of Laon. Also known as Charlemagne Holy Roman Emp, Kejsare Karl den Store ; Emperor Of The West, Charlemagne or Charles The Great , King Of The Franks & Princess Of Swabia, Hildegarde , Countis De Vinzgau. King of the Lombards 774.

    On Christmas Day AD 800 Pope Leo III crowned Charlemagne as a rival emperor in Byzantium the Roman Empire's second capital. The following three centuries saw The Byzantine Empire, although surrounded by hostile Muslims, Bulgars, Russians and Romans, wasted much of its time on obscure theological disputes. Yet despite being controlled by an extraordinary sequence of adventures, drunkards, lustful empresses, sinister eunuchs and unworldly scholars, it somehow managed to survive and saw the coronation of the heroic Alexius Comnenus in 1081.

    Charlemagne Emperor of The Holy Roman Empire was born on 2 Apr 742 in Aix La Chapelle, Austrasia. He was christened in St Denis, France. He died on 28 Jan 814 in Aix La Chapelle, Austrasia. He was buried in Notre Dame D'aix La Chapelle, Austrasia. He apparently married five times. Firstly in about 768 to Himiltude, mother of his son Pepin the Hunchback, Monk at Prüm. Secondly he married Desiderata (Desideria, Sibilla, Bertha) Empress of The Holy Roman Empire in 770. This second marriage was annuled in 771. This was the year of his third marriage to Hildegard Empress of The Holy Roman Empire in 771 in Aachen, Rhineland, Prussia.

    King Charlemagine The Holy Roman Emperor also had two mistresses:
    (1)Adalind, who bore his son Theodric (807-818) a cleric; (2) an unknown, mother of Richbod (800-844) abbott of St-Riquier.
