    Sandra Smith advised in April 2006 : Emmeline Rebecca Marie LORD married her cousin, Percy Robert RAMSAY. [Emmeline's father] Robert Charles LORD was the son of Sydney Merchant, Simeon LORD and Mary HYDE. Simeon LORD (1771-1840), was convicted in Manchester of stealing a couple of hundred yards of calico and other cloth. He arrived on the Reliance in 1795. Simeon Lord became a successful merchant, banker and landowner, was made a magistrate in 1810, and was one of the founders of the Bank of New South Wales (Westpac).

    Origin of Haberfield Street Names advises :
    (1)Dobroyd : Derived from the Simeon Lord's Dobroyd Estate (sometimes spelt Dobroyde). In turn, the name comes from Dobroyd Castle, at Todmorden in Yorkshire, England
    (2) Lord : Simeon Lord owned the Dobroyd(e) Estate from 1805 to 1825, when he gave it (along with a 2000 pound mortgage) as a dowry to his daughter, Sarah Ann Ramsay (1806-89).
    (3) Ramsay : This is one of four original roads established through Ramsay's Bush by the Ramsay family. The Ramsay family owned the Dobroyd Estate from the 1823 until the early 20th century.
