Charlotte Cornwell was married to Edward Lewis in 1827 in Richmond, NSW. Children's names were, Mary Anne, Margaret, Jane, Charlotte, John, Edward, Ellen Susannah, Eliza Rebekah, Emma, (my direct Relative), William, all born between 1828 & 1853 in Richmond NSW. Edward & Charlotte had 9 children, Mary, Margaret (born 1830 at Richmond NSW), Jane, Charlotte, John, Edward, Ellen, Eliza, Emma (my direct relative). Charlotte parents were Isaac Cornwell and Margaret Mary Stocker. Isaac was born 1774, came to Australia aboard the ship in the 3rd Fleet in 1791, 'William & Ann'. He was sentenced to 7 years in the colonies. He married Margaret in 1797 in Sydney. Margaret came to Australia on the 'Indispensable' in 1796. She was arrested for stealing 2 yards of cloth valued at 5 shillings and sentenced for 7 years at the age of 16.

Paul Kirby's Rootsweb Database advises:
He was tried at Maidstone, Kent, England on 15 March 1790 and sentenced to 7 years transportation. Details of charges unknown. He was shot on 1 January 1811 and died 2 days later. He had become drunk at a house run by a Patrick Hand and been refused service. He returned with an axe and tried to break in when he was shot.
