    Page 283 in Book 2 of 'Along the Windsor Richmond Road' states : Sophia Rebecca (1854 - 1890)
    Sophia buried more children than she raised and finally died in childbirth at he age of 36, when her ninth child was born. She had married Hector Alexander Stewart McLean in 1874, and the children born to the marriage where - (Roderick (1875c), Alexander Rocerick Stuart (1876), William J. (1878), Ann Flora (1880), Ernest Charles (1881), Emma J.J. (1882), Kate (1885), Ena (or Eva) (1887) and Pearlin J. (1890). Other than Ann Flora and Ena (Eva) May, all of these infants died the same year or the one following their birth. In the case of Pearlin, Sophia died when she was born and was buried with her infant children in the Cudal Cemetery.
    Hector McLean worked a farm property at 'Oakey Creek' near Cudal. He remarried again some ten years of more after Sophia's death, and his second wife was Sophia's younger sister, Emma Jane. Possibly Emma had been 'mother' to his two surviving daughers who had last their own Mother so very young. This, of course is only speculative.

Annie Flora McLean’s parents: Hector Alexander S.McLean married Sophia Rebecca Townsend in Orange in 1874 had 8 children - Ann Flora born 1880 in Molong.
