As with any genealogical effort, this is a work-in-progress and includes information shared by various family members. While every attempt to document all sources has been made, there are many opportunities for human error and conflicts within the sources themselves. Any privacy concerns will be addressed - refer Privacy Policy. I would love to hear from anyone who shares common ancestry.

Current Caterson Census 2000 Australian Catersons
Below is information relating to persons born with the surname CATERSON since the arrival of the First Settlers in Australia in the 1840s. Individuals are listed by their generation number (e.g. G2- second generation) and sibling number (e.g. S4- fourth sibling to the parent with the surname CATERSON). Generation and sibling numbers in “lower case” (e.g. g2s5) give the identity of the grandfather and father if they go back. Thus, a CATERSON with the identification number G5(g2s6g3s3g4s2)-S2 is Generation 5, Sibling 2, who was directly descended from G2-S6 (i.e. Wellington); his third child, G3(g2s6)-S3 (i.e. Alan Sydney); and his second child, G4(g2s6g3s3)-S2 (i.e. Brian Robert); The person is there fore Brian Roberts Caterson’s second child, G5(g2s6g3s3g4s2)-S2 (i.e. Barbara Anne Caterson). This might seem cumbersome at first but was the best way to catalogue people. Thus we all have a Census number. (any better ways of doing this would be greatly appreciated)
