  • ID: I2699
  • Name: Angélique GAUTHIER
  • Name: Angeline ALORE 1
  • Sex: F
  • Birth: 20 Oct 1833 in Hawkesbury, Russell, Upper Canada, British Colonial America 2 3
  • Note: Angelique appears as an unnamed child who was about one year old and was brought before the priest at her parents' wedding. The record states that she was baptized but does not offer a name - there is no formal record of baptism beyond this brief mention at the end of her parents' marriage record and no godparents were recorded. The child was subsequently identified as Angelique, the eldest child, named after her grandmother as was the custom. Her birthdate is taken from the 1901 census record and is fairly consistent with other sources; it is exactly one year before her parents' marriage, consistent with the note in the marriage record. She was born in or near Hawkesbury, ON (though the 1911 census, by exception, says she was born in Quebec).

Note: The source is the marriage record for Angelique's parents. The last sentence of the record notes that the couple brought their one-year old baby with them to the wedding. It implies that the child was "unknown" to the church or unbaptized and there is no indication a baptism was performed at that time.
