  • ID: I2699
  • Name: Angélique GAUTHIER
  • Sex: F
  • Birth: 20 Oct 1833 in Hawkesbury, Russell, Upper Canada, BRITISH AMERICA 1 2
  • Note: Angelique appears as an unnamed child who was about one year old and was brought before the priest at her parents' wedding. The record states that she was baptized but does not offer a name - there is no formal baptismal record beyond this brief mention at the end of her parents' marriage record and no godparents were recorded. The child was subsequently identified as Angelique, the eldest child, named after her grandmother as was the custom. Her birthdate is taken from the 1901 census record and is fairly consistent with other sources; it is exactly one year before her parents' marriage, consistent with the note in the marriage record. She was born in or near Hawkesbury, ON (though the 1911 census, by exception, says she was born in Quebec).

  • Census: census of Canada 31 Mar 1901 Île-aux-Allumettes, Pontiac, Québec, CANADA
  • Note: Angelique Allard, age 67, born Ontario 20 Oct 1833, widow, mother of household head Leon Allard. 2
  • Census: census of Canada 1 Jun 1911 Île-aux-Allumettes, Pontiac, Québec, CANADA
  • Note: Angelique Allard, age 78, born Quebec Oct 1832, widow, mother of household head, Leon Allard. 5
  • Note: After her husband died, their son Léon took over the family farm at Demers Centre and she remained there for a time. She moved to North Bay in 1912 to live with her youngest daughter, Éxilda. She died and is buried there.
