(aged 65 years 8 days). The death records are transcriptions so are
subject to errors. The record shows his name as L.N., rather than L.W.,
his father as Jas. [Jos., I believe] S. HOOD, born SC, & his mother as
Catherine [Caroline, I believe]. The record has his birthplace as
Russell Co., but he was almost certainly born in Monroe Co., AL. It has
to be the same guy who married Ella BAXLEY. He resided at Speigner,
Elmore Co., AL. In the death records, Allen W. HOOD’s parents are shown
as Lonza HOOD & Ella BAXLEY (Allen W. died in Montgomery, AL 19 Jan
1972). L.N.’s burial place is shown as Cains Chapel 3 May 1924. In the
1880 census, Alonza HOOD, aged 21, is residing with his older brother,
Joseph, in Lee Co., AL.
