Mrs Vilate O Pearce

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow for Mrs Vilate O Pearce, 89, of 3535 Lincoln Avenue, a 32 year resident of Oakland, who died Thursday at her home.

Born in Kanab, Utah, Mrs Pearce during her childhood resided in Arizona at a time when cattlemen and Apache Indians were warring. She came to the Bay Area in 1927.

Mrs Pearce leaves three sons, Linford L and Willard C, both of Oakland, and Orson F, of San Diego; two daughters, Mrs Mildred P Fontano of Alameda and Mrs Dessa L Bowdish of Los Angeles; 22 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.

The services will be conducted by Bishop Sterling Nicolayson of Alameda in the Third Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Funeral arrangements are by the Robinson Brothers Mortuary, 1901 Fruitvale Avenue
