Funeral Dated For Wednesday

Funeral services for Gustave Plenge, 76, who died Sunday in a Salem Hospital will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 4 p.m. at the Virgil T. Golden Funeral home. Burial will be in Belcrest Memorial Park. Rev. Ellery Parrish officiating.
Plenge lived out Liberty Road and was a wounded Spanish-American War veteran. He lived nearly 23 years here in retirement. His wife Tressie, died about four years ago.
He was born February 2, 1879 in Germany and came to the United States at the age of 2. He lived in New York City and later in Illinois before moving to Oregon where he farmed for a short while.
Plenge was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.
Survivors include eight children, Mrs. Charlotte Hughes, Mrs. Faye Sanders, Mrs Nona Meech, Mrs. Mae McMillen, Kenneth Plenge and Ernest Plenge. all of Salem; Mrs, Ethyle Williams, Lebanon and Mrs. Grace Phelps, Rochelle, Ill; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Burial:
