    Caroline Krause Hein’s Obituary

Mrs. Caroline Hein passed to her eternal reward on Thursday morning May 23, 1924 at two o’clock at the age of 87 years, 8 months, and 8 days. For the past years she had been ailing with the infirmities of old age, but lately seemed to have regained part of her former health when heart failure set in and she was suddenly called from her home. Mrs. Hein, nee Harmel was born October 14, 1836 in the province of Poland, Germany. At the age of twenty-four in 1860 she was united in marriage to Mr. Krause. A few years later they migrated to Canada and then to Grand Rapids, Mich. In 1868 the family settled on a farm south of West Point. Mr. Krause passed away many years ago.
Later upon uniting in marriage with Mr. Hein the family made its home on a farm west of town. The last years Mrs. Hein lived in her own home in the east part of town and was efficiently cared for by two daughters who live in the immediate neighborhood.
She leaves to mourn her death John Krause of Petersburg; Mrs. Susan Andre, West Point; Mrs. Albert Mimberger, Hudson Falls, New York; Mrs. Gustave Krueger, West Point; Misses Anna and Martha Hein, Omaha; Dr. Henry Hein, Wilbur, and a large number of friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Evangelical church, Rev Stauss officiating. Interment was made in Mr. Hope cemetery.

GGRANDFATHER GOTTLIEB KRAUSE AT AGE 29 AND GGRANDMOTHER CAROLINE HARMEL AT AGE 21 WERE MARRIED ON NOV. 23, 1856 IN THE EVANGELISCH CHURCH IN GROSS-GOLLE (GOLSZEWO), KREIS (COUNTY) WONGROWITZ (WONGROWICE). WHICH IS ABOUT THREE MILES FROM STRZESZKOWO (STRESCHKOWO) THE TOWN WHERE CAROLINE WAS BORN. IN THE SPACE ON THE MARRIAGE RECORD FOR LISTING WHERE THEY LIIVED WAS WRITTEN MIESCISKO-MILOSLAWIC-HAULAND. MIESCISKO WAS GOTTLIEB’S HOME AND MILOSLAWIC-HAULAND CAROLINE’S. THESE TOWNS ARE LOCATED VERY CLOSE TO STRZESZKOWO, CAROLINE’S BIRTHPLACE. MILOSLAWIC IS ONLY A STONE’S THROW WAY. ALL ARE LOCATED ABOUT 30 MILES NOTHEAST OF POZNAN. UNLIKE MOST OTHER MARRIAGE RECORDS FROM THIS ERA IN THIS AREA, THERE WAS NO PLACE ON THIS MARRIËAGE RECORD FOR THE BRIDE AND GROOM’S PARENT’S NAMES WHICH IS DISSAPOINTING AS WE STILL DON’T KNOW GOTTLIEB’S FAMILY HISTORY .
