Isaac Robertson was born in Connecticut, on the river of that name, and was a farmer by occupation. During the Revolutionary War he served as ensign, an office now equivalent to that of second lieutenant, and loyally aided the colonists in their struggle for independence remaining in the army until the British troops were forced to withdraw from American soil. He married Miss Sarah Dow (actually her sister Polly), an own cousin of the celebrated Lorenzo Dow. They first located on a farm in Connecticut and then moved to New York in early pioneer days, and there he died, about 1813, between the ages of sixty and seventy years. He was a member of the Methodist church and a man of sterling character.

Eunice Barker showed Isaac Robertson was born on the Connecticut River which runs through Coventry and Hartford. Note: Connecticut River runs through Hartford and Hartford Co. Coventry is ~20 miles east of the river. [ADB] There is another birth date of 1739/1749 listed which would make him 21 years older than his wife. Conn 4 Coventry Records. Burdick, 1855, p. 222-3, " In 1808, Rockwell Wildman and Isaac Robertson came in and selected locations. The former migrated from the north, and settled on lot 15. ... The latter came from Connecticut, but was not permitted to enjoy for more than a few brief seasons the fruits of his labor; he died in 1811; his wife in 1815. He left eleven children -- three are now living." [1882]
