There are a number of possibilities relating to Job's being in Marengo Co. AL in 1821: He came there with his grandfather when he was 15-16 years old; he came to Marengo Co. later to join his grandfather, JOB SPRINGER, and his uncles, JOB
SPRINGER, JR. & JOHN SPRINGER there; his family left Twiggs Co. GA and all came to Marengo Co. between 1820-1821; Job himself went alone to Bibb Co. by 1825 (marriage to Betsy Ann Miller) and his family joined him there from
Marengo Co.; Job went to Bibb Co. first and his family joined him from Twiggs Co. GA. No proof of any of these theories.)

May 1846 Died in Jefferson Co. ARK of unknown causes. In his Adminis-
tration papers, Ezekiel Miller, his father-in-law, is named as administrator and only children James Theophilus and Martha are mentioned, so Edith, his last child, hadn't been born yet, or at least he hadn't learned of her birth. Jesse
Miller, his brother-in-law (bro. of wife Betsy Ann Miller) comes to ARK to help out
and later, in 1851, after Betsy Ann had died in child birth following her marriage to Minor C. Hubbard, Jesse takes Job's three young children (James Theophilus, Martha and Edith) into his home and as their guardian, makes yearly reports on their finances. (Jefferson Co. ARK Administrations and Bonds).
3/31/1851 Jesse Miller petitions court for guardianship of Theophilus, Martha
and Edith Medders, minor heirs of Job Medders. Job had left money to each child and a slave to each.

(Job and Betsy Ann evidently had a number of children who died. If those
appearing on the 1840 census had still been alive (the one boy 5-10 and the
two girls 0-5) they would have been in Job's 1846 Jefferson Co. ARK Adminis-
tration papers. The only known children appearing on the census are the two
daughters 0-5 in 1830 and 10-15 in 1840. These are Sylvester & Parthena.
The other three children are unaccounted for (James Theophilus, Martha and
Edith weren't born until after the 1840 census.)
