BARBARA BROWNAt her late home in Roaring Spring at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Mrs. Barbara Brown died after a year's illness of heart disease. Mrs. Brown was the daughter of David and Mary Klotz and she was born at King, Bedford county, March 5, 1844. She was united in marriage to Philip Brown on February 18, 1872, and they established their new home at New Enterprise. Some years later they moved to Dry Gap, near Roaring Spring. After the death of her husband, thirteen years ago, Mrs. Brown came to Roaring Spring to live. She united with the Lutheran church when 15 years of age and was always faithful and ready to render service in the cause of right. She was a kind and loving mother, and obliging neighbor, who will be greatly missed. She was the mother of eight children, five of whom survive--Frank K., Lloyd and Mrs. Myrtle Ayers, of Roaring Spring, Mrs. Jennie Baker of Duncansville; Mrs. Rebecca Snowberger, of Williamsburg. Three sisters and three brothers also survive--Mrs. Jacob Pressel and John Klotz, of New Enterprise; Mrs. Leah Lamborn, of Nebraska; Mrs. George Hengst, of Roaring Spring; Jacob, of Belleville, O.; George of Altoona. There are also twenty-three grandchildren. The funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning, conducted by Rev. H.E. Berkey, of St. Luke's Lutheran church.
