Note: Gurman was a very loving and caring person. He served in the second world war as a Marine. He was involved in lot of combat in Heroshema and other locations in Japan. He was lost from his company for several days,forced to servive on his own. A native boy accompanied him all these days he was on his own,(He showed him how to find natural foods). As a tank gunner, he had five tanks shot from under him. He was wounded in action. Recieved a Purple Heart. He spent two years in the VA Hospital, one of which was confined to ice packs for nervious reactions due to combat experiences. He experienced amneasia, after being dismissed. He retruned for further treatment. He lost his pilots license because of his combat experience. He married in California to Mary and had six children. He devorced and remarried Norma (he had no children in this marriage.) He died in Portland Oregon,from failed Heart Surgery.
