Note: As remember by Wilna Marion Hackler ------I like to remember myschool days at Irving. We lived there during World War I. You couldsell anything to eat, so I (8 or 9 years old) got up and churned whileMama fixed breakfast. Then while cool in morning, before sunupsometime, I walked across the field, carried 4 pounds of butter in abasket. The next day I took 4 to 6 dozens eggs. Mr Charley Lucas wasmy Sunday School teacher and he worked at Banner Mercantile Store, sohe always called Egg Girl. When Mamma, Burns and I first went toDallas to Work (we all worked at a cold storage place). Burns tookeggs from cases and put on a wire deal that brought them up betweentwo rolls of women. We broke the eggs into flat dishes and droppedthe shells. We stayed cold all day.
