    Col William Eaton's militia regiment (Lieut Colonel William Person and Major James Paine) Granville County, North Carolina roll taken 8 Oct 1754 This muster roll (found in Vol 22 of the North Carolina State Records) is generally considered to be the first true accounting of all able-bodied men in Granville County, North Carolina. Those men in this regiment are believed to range in ages from young teens to much older.
