When Robert Eugene George's (aka GP) grandson was just a boy GP said
that he would give Robert $2.00 if he would finish mowing the grass.
GP was about three fourths drunk and cut his grass with a sickle. As
Robert was finishing the lawn GP continued to drink until he was
totaly loaded and laid down to take a nap. When GP got up he gave
Robert the $2.00. This is the first thing that I (Robert's wife
Martha Sue) have ever heard good about GP. He died the year that I
married Robert. There was another incident that Bob remembers. It
was Grandma's birthday and GP came home late from work and handed
Grandma a package. She asked how much did this cost and he took it
back and threw it into the potbelly stove and burnt it. It was a
complete outfit for her, coat, hat, dress & shoes.
