My Basil Davis was born in Prince George Co. MD about 1755. His father was Henry. He married Francis? He had Alfred, Henry, Susannah Ann, Rebecca, William, Littleton, Britton and Nancy. They lived in Roane County TN in early 1800. The info comes from a book about the Poplar Creek Davis'. Briton is our line as far as we know. We cannot document it to this point.

Text: In e-mail dated May 8, 2001 from Ruby Stevens she quotes: In the Roan County Tennesseee Marriage Records 1801-1855, James Ford and Anna Davis were issued a marriage license on 14 Jan. 1826. Ther person to sign the Surety Bond was Brittian Davis. Britton or Brittian Davis was a Constable in Roane Co. He was born on or about 1773 and he was from North Carolina. His wife was Elizabeth and she was born on or about 1778 and she was from Virginia.
