    Geraldine May { Rudy } Miller, Age 45, daughter of the late Thomas A. Rudy and Elnora May { Stanley } Rudy. Was born July 16, 1907, at Havensville, Pottawatomie Co., Kansas, and passed away April 29, 1953. She had been in poor health for four years with heart aliment, and suffered a heart attack at home on the evening of the 28th April 1953.
    At an early age the family moved to Soldier, Kansas, where Jean started her schooling and graduated from Soldier High School with a class of 18 in 1926.
    She then went to Emporia State Teachers College for three years. While attending college she met Charles E. Miller son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Miller, of 201 East 2nd Street, Emporia, Kansas.
    They were married August 25, 1931, at Kansas City, Kansas by the father of Paul Durham, a former Soldier United Methodist Church Minister. To this union was born two sons, Phillip now 19 and Gerald 17, both of the home. Charles E. or "Chuck" preceded her in death August 23, 1950.
    Early in life Jean united with the Soldier United Methodist Church, and was always active in the church work, teaching classes, assisting as pianist, in the choir and with youth activities. she later transferred her membership to the First United Methodist Church to Emporia, Kansas. and after moving to Kansas City, Kansas she attended the London Heights United Methodist Church. Jean was also a member of the Sherman chapter, O.E.S., Kansas City, Kansas, And the Emporia Rebekah Lodge.
    Words cannot express the faith of this mother, Who suffered who suffered so much with ill health and who had seen members of the family also suffer, yet her trust in God did not falter and she has now gone to the home where there is no suffering, no heart aches or sorrow.
    Survivors includes two sons, Charles Phillip and Gearld Thomas of the home.
    Mrs. T. A. Rudy of Soldier; three brothers, Stanley Perry of Kansas City; Theodore Enid of Circleville; and Thomas Ivan of Soldier; and her husband parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Miller of Emporia, Kansas.
    Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday at the Roberts-Blue Chaple in Emporia with Rev. Clyde S. Clark Officiating and using his theme
    " What Can We Believe ". Mr. Dennis Cowan, Soloist, sang " No Night There " and " The Old Rugged Cross ". The organist was Mrs. Robert Plummer. Burial was in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia, Kansas.
    Casket bearers were; Enid and Stanley Rudy, Claude Rudy, Jack French,
    Ernest Rudy and Preston Owens.
