Her obituary from the Gatesville paper: Mary Elizabeth "Bettie" Dodson Lee was born near Flat, January 2, 1882, and passed away in Kings Daughters Hospital at Temple, September 2, 1947, at the age of 65 years and eight months. She was the daughter of Jesse and Mary Jane Judkins. She was married February 22, 1899, at the age of 17 to John Robert Lee and to this union was born five children - three sons and two daughters: John Raby Lee, Mrs. Jessie Altum, and Robert Clayton Lee of Houston, and Mrs. Juanita Faucett of Killeen.
She was converted, baptized and made a member of Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 13, and later moved her membership to Cold Springs Baptist Church, near which she resided most of her life.
She is survived by her husband, 5 children, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Annie McCullough of Kopperl; and two brothers, Lee Dodson of Post and Wiley Dodson of Reagan. Her parents and one brother, Ben Dodson, preceded her in death.
