Name: John COLLIER
Given Name: John
Birth: 1594 in London, Hertfordshire, Eng.
Death: Dec., 1649 in Surrey, England
Burial: Surrey, England Beddington
John Collier b. 1594 in London (some records indicate he may have been son of Robert Collier and first wife, Mary Pennye, and not of 2nd wife, Mary Strang)was a merchant and cloth worker. He married Regina Semiliano/Semelinao (b. 1598 in London, England) and had at least one child: Charles Collier* b. in 1620 in London, England.
John Collier's will was made Dec. 18, 1649 and proved Jan. 8, 1650, directing that he be buried at Beddington, Surry. He gave 1/3 of his goods to his wife, Regina, 1/3 to his son, Charles, and the remaining 1/3 to "my brother, Isaac Collyer, Sr., I forgive E500 he owes me, to my nephew, Isaac Collier, Jr., E150." [Source: "Collier" by E.R. Collier of San Antonio, TX, 1975, and research of firstname.lastname@example.org,1998.](Since he left monies in his estate only to brother, Isaac, and not other siblings, it lends credence to the records indicating that only John and Isaac were sons of Robert and first wife, Mary Pennye, and the other siblings were children of Robert and second wife, Mary Strang).
*Charles b. 1620 in London was m. to Regina Semilian (accdg. to research of Edith (Kendrick) Brock-Gomez). (email@example.com),1998. Due to the consistency with his mother's name (Regina Semiliano), I question whether this is an error or if he married a cousin?
