Zachariah Hendrickson is mentioned in the Nicholas County History Book. Here is the information from the article.

"The Hendrickson family traces its Nicholas County heritage to the early 1800's following the arrival in Virginia around 1750 from Norway of Zachariah (or Zeke) Hendrickson. Zachariah, who served in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, had three sons: Jonathan M., Owen, and George, with Jonathan and Owen settling in the Mt. Lookout area around 1850."

Zachariah is found in Botetourt Co., VA in the 1820 census. In 1830, he is listed in Botetourt Co., VA beneath his son, Owen, on page 289. In the 1840 census of Botetourt Co., he is listed as Zachariah Hendrixon. He is on page 283.

Zachariah's will was dated 18 Nov 1839 in the counmty of Botetourt, VA. He mentions his wife Susana Hendrickson and gives her one equal third part of all his estate of whatsoever kind it may be for and during her natural lifetime and after her death he gives the same to his several children hereinafter names. To his son James he gives $1.00, together with $120.00 which he had received of his estate heretofore. He goes on the name his other children: Henry, David, Jane, Elizabeth, Nancy, Ruth, Mary Naoma, Owen, Jonathan, Martha, George and Mark.

The estate inventory of Zachariah Hendrickson was dated 20 Nov 1845 and recorded in May 1846 in Botetourt Co., VA in Will Book G, page 258. The list includes 1 set shoemaker's tools, $.25, 1 book $1.00, 1 log chain, $.75, 2 cows $16.00, 1 black and white steer, $5.00, 1 lot of sheep $11.00, and other assorted tools and furniture. The total of the estate inventory was $116.91.
