Affidavit from Hugh Smith Neely, dated 26 September 1854 - Stating mother, Jane Neely, at time of death, left the following named children: William B Neely; Robert Neely; Susan Neely wife of Robert Neely (a cousin); Mary Neely, wife of John Richardson, who is dead, leaving unknown children; Margaret Neely, wife of James Richardson, who is dead, leaving one child, Patsy Neely, wife of John G Montgomery; and Hugh S Neely; the Heirs clamin pension in right of their mother, Jane, widow of Robert Neely.

24 May 1814 -- Wm. B. Neely and Judith Pool were married in Washington County, VA, by James Harper, a Presbyterian Minister, who performed marriages from 1803 - 1814. Harper was a member of the board of trustees of the Abingdon Male Academy. He died in 1815. (The Marriages of Washington County, VA, 1781 - 1853, by D. E. Brown, pages 46 & 94.)

01 Aug 1818 -- William B. Neely -- 225 acre Land Grant. Bounds: John Duff on the northwest, James Campbell on the upper east boundary, Robert Caldwell on the lower east boundary, Robert Houston on the southwest and Andrew Russell on the east. This 225 acre tract was located south of the South Fork of the Holston River and due south of Robert Neeley's 140 acre deed and east of the Robert Neeley 22.5 acre Land Grant.

20 Oct 1819 -- Wm. B Neely & Judy his wife (to) Hugh C Neely & John Neely, all of Washington Co., VA, for $300 -- 200 acres in Washington County on the waters of the South Fork of the Holston River and on the south side of the said river. Bounds: Robert Caldwell's land, line of James Campbell, corner to John Duff's land, line of Robert Huston. [Signed] William B. Neely, Judy (her + mark) Neely. Deed admitted to record on 21 Dec 1819. (Washington County Deed Book 7:127 - 138) (Washington County, Virginia Deed Book 7, 1818 - 1822, by Jack Hockett, page 35)

Although the above deed is only for 200 acres and Wm. B. Neely's 01 Aug 1818 Land Grant was for 225 acres, due to the adjoining neighbors and the sequence of those neighbors boundaries in both the above deed and in the Land Grant, it looks like to be 200 acre deed was contained within the 225 acre Land Grant.
