    At this time, no other documents have been located on Frederick Sherman, to determine his full name. Others who are far more advanced in research, have also hit a brick wall on this subject.

    Additional Information was provided by Gordon and Patricia Hersey of New York, direct descendant of James Henry Sherman, including several Wills and Estate Papers on the Sherman family.

    Washington County Surrogates Court
    In the matter of the estate of
    Frederick Sherman, late of
    Hartford, deceased -
    Nancy Sherman states that Frederick Sherman died suddenly, drowned - he had a heart attack or stroke, on a canal boat near Waterford on or about the 24th day of July. That he was a resident of the County of Washington at the time of his death. Nancy Sherman declares the probable value of the personal estate of the deceased is valued in about two thousand dollars. The declaration was signed by Nancy Sherman with a X mark, on August 31, 1835

    Frederick Sherman is buried in the Old Hartford Cemetery, In Hartford, Washington Co., New York; next to Frederick Sherman is his wife Nancy Sherman.
